Spent 4 nights at the Eco Resort at the beginning and end of a trek. Had a lovely yoga and meditation classes, and spa onsite as well. Rooms were comfortable and clean, with AC even (a huge win when it's 95 degrees and most places only have a fan!). The staff was extremely friendly and courteous, and went out of their way to help make you feel comfortable and welcome.   Stayed April 2016, traveled with friends

I had to move out of my previous hotel after 1 night due to lack of hot water and this place was recommended by a friend. I stayed 5 nights and the hotel with its lovely courtyard was a calm and peaceful oasis. The owner, Mohan and manager, Padam could not do enough to make my time in Kathmandu more enjoyable. The office, security and household staff were so friendly and always greeted me with a smile. The man who looked after me at breakfast was so thoughtful and remembered, from my first cup of coffee, how I took it. My friend, who was not a guest, and I spent many hours overall in the courtyard and we both were recognised by all staff. As a single female traveller I felt safe and looked after here. We stayed here at the start of our trek and for several days on our return. There is nothing impossible for the staff right up to the CEO who is involved right down to the very personnel touch. Ask and you will receive is all you need to do. Breakfast was good with a big choice. It is centrally situated in the Thamel area so within walking distance of shops and good restaurants. My partner and I just spent 3 weeks in Nepal and during our time in Kathmandu we stayed at Thamel Eco Resort. This is my second visit to Nepal and the second time I have chosen Thamel Eco Resort. The accommodation is very comfortable and right in the centre of this bustling city. Close to the best restaurants. All that's a great advantage but the staff are what make your stay unforgettable. We moved around Nepal during our visit and every time we came back to Thamel it was like coming home to a family who had missed you during your absence. From the guys who carry your luggage up and down to your room, the staff who cook up a great breakfast, the loverly ladies who clean your room, the manager who is always checking that everything is OK to the adorable girls on reception - your made feel like part of one big happy family. I would 100% recommend staying here on your next visit to Kathmandu. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple
